Preserve Corregidor!

Corregidor is a wonderful island in our country. Its separation from poverty kept it safe from the bad effects of urbanization. There are foundations that maintain Corregidor’s magnificence. The healthy trees are not cut down in two. The green fields are not dry brown. The clear, blue waters are as clear as mirrors. But there are things threatening to destroy Corregidor’s serenity.

Nowadays, Corregidor is a tourist spot open to both Filipinos and foreigners. By some means, it helps to improve our economy but somehow disturb the tranquility of our ecosystem. This also affects Corregidor. There may come a time where our once healthy trees be cut down in two. Our once green fields become dry brown. Or once clear, blue waters be polluted and become poisonous. Somehow, people find different ways to tamper with Corregidor’s splendor. What would we do when this time comes?

As citizens of our nation, we should prevent these disasters from happening. We could start by throwing our trash at proper designated areas. Supporting foundations and associations that maintain and preserve Corregidor is already a big step to success. We can also serve as good examples to others. There are other ways to preserve Corregidor’s finery. Doing these actions also contribute on saving Mother Nature. Let’s be friends with Mother Nature and protect Corregidor from destruction too. Corregidor was an important part of the past, an important asset at present and still hoping it would be in the future. Corregidor, the pride of the Philippines, let us protect it. May the Rock Force be with you!
